Butt-Weld Fitting
Our reducing (unequal) butt-weld tee branches from a larger run into a smaller outlet within a single fitting, eliminating the need for a separate butt-weld reducer and an additional weld. This integrated transition saves both installation time and envelope space, while maintaining full-penetration joint integrity on all three connections.
Each tee is supplied with factory-machined weld-end bevels to ASME B16.25 on run and branch outlets. Full heat-number traceability and EN 10204 3.1 material test certificates are available to satisfy UK site quality requirements.
Manufactured to BS EN 10253-2 and ASME B16.9 in a choice of carbon and stainless steel grades to suit your operating conditions.

By combining the branch and reducer into one fitting, a reducing tee removes two welds compared with the equivalent equal tee plus butt-weld reducer arrangement. Fewer welds mean fewer NDT inspection points, reduced fabrication time and a smaller overall envelope — a significant advantage on compact process skids and plant rooms where every millimetre of space matters.
Ideal for water distribution networks, fire protection systems, HVAC distribution headers, process plant branch connections and utility tie-ins across the UK where service lines must branch from larger mains efficiently.
Every fitting is manufactured to BS EN 10253-2 and ASME B16.9 and supplied with full material traceability and EN 10204 Type 3.1 test certificates. Heat numbers are recorded throughout production to support inspection, QA and UK project-compliance requirements.
Stocked at our Sheffield, UK facility and delivered nationwide across England, Scotland and Wales. We offer fast dispatch from stock with tracked UK delivery to site, and next-day options for common sizes.
Available from 1/2" (DN15) to 24" (DN600) in schedule 10, 40 and 80, in both metric and imperial sizes to suit UK installations.
A single reducing tee replaces an equal tee plus a butt-weld reducer, removing two welds and their associated NDT inspection costs. The compact one-piece design also reduces the installation envelope, lowers material weight and improves flow characteristics at the branch transition compared with two separate fittings.
