90° Long Radius Elbow - Butt-Weld Pipe Fitting
The 90° long radius (LR) butt-weld elbow is the most widely used change-of-direction fitting across industrial pipework. With a centre-to-end radius of 1.5 × nominal pipe size (1.5D), it produces the lowest pressure drop of any elbow option, minimising turbulence and erosion on high-flow process and utility lines.
Each fitting is supplied with a bevelled weld end and full-penetration butt-weld preparation, ready for orbital or manual TIG/MIG welding. Fully traceable material certification is available with every order to support QA, inspection and UK project-compliance requirements.

The generous 1.5D bend radius keeps the flow path smooth and reduces velocity changes, lowering energy demand on pumps and compressors over long runs. This also limits internal wear and erosion in abrasive or high-velocity service, extending the life of the fitting and the adjacent pipework.

What is the difference between long radius and short radius?
A long radius (LR) elbow has a centre-to-end radius of 1.5D, giving a lower pressure drop. A short radius (SR) elbow uses a 1.0D radius, saving space where clearances are tight.
